10/4/2020 1 Comment Davidstea fall favoritesIt’s finally here! The season we’ve all been excitedly waiting for (don’t lie)! Fanatics of all things cozy, rejoice! Fall is my absolute favorite season, hands down. I love smelling the crisp air and it gives homebodies like me the perfect excuse to stay inside and sip giant cups of tea all day. I love tea all year round, but when the colder weather hits, I cannot be seen without my warm drink of choice. This year, I was particularly impressed with DavidsTea’s fall collection, made up of new releases and old time favorites. Here are my 5 favorites for this year. Sweet Potato Pie Can we first address the name of that tea? What is a sweet potato pie? Google tells me it’s the southern version of the traditional pumpkin pie, and I must admit that I am intrigued. This is the first time I hear of this dish (I’m sorry), but I love me some sweet potatoes... Yeah, this is totally going on my fall to-do list: Bake a sweet potato pie. I originally bought this tea because the name in French translates to Sweet Potato and Pecans. I confess it was the pecan factor that got me. Boy, was I not disappointed! This tea is rich and sweet, full of flavors that are warm like a fall night spent curled up on the couch. Because the flavor of that tea is so heavy (and probably because of those sweet potatoes), I think it’ll be an amazing transition tea leading into the winter months. I hope I’ll have enough for winter too… Pumpkin Pie Matcha Matcha is still pretty new to me. For the longest time, I was slightly intimidated by its deep green color and distinctive taste. Flavored matcha has been helping me explore this japanese classic and I’m loving it. Coincidentally, DavidsTea has an impressive array of flavored matchas. The pumpkin pie flavor is the perfect blend of two classics; the soft tartness of matcha tea mixed with the sweetness of pumpkin pie flavoring. Because of its moderate caffeine level, this drink is perfect for a fall morning, topped with frothed milk and a dash of pumpkin pie spices. Yum! Pumpkin Chai Cla-ssic. I feel like this tea has been around forever and I think we’re all hoping that it’ll be around for even longer. What I love most about this fall staple is the fact that it’s not very sweet. Made with black tea, it tastes more like a baked pumpkin than pumpkin pie or any pumpkin dessert. It’s a nice alternative for all those extra sweet fall drinks. It’s also been my studying buddy for years, since it contains caffeine. And as my best friend put it so well: the best part about this tea is the little pumpkin confetti mixed with the black tea leaves. Why is fall such a cute season?! Butterscotch Chai Doesn’t the word “butterscotch” sound so rich and luxurious? Those exact words describe this tea perfectly well. DavidsTea hit the nail on the head with this fresh release. It is made with rooibos tea, which always lets any added flavors through really well. Interesting fact: it contains a whole bunch of fruits, like apple, mango, pineapple and papaya, which, combined with the fact that it’s made with rooibos instead of black tea, might be why the taste is so subtle compared to a classic chai. It’s also caffeine-free which makes it the perfect companion to end the night, like a glass of scotch in front of the fireplace. I say that, but I don’t drink scotch. I always liked the idea, though. These are the teas that I’ll be sipping on for the next few weeks, at all hours of the day. Please let me know what your fall tea essentials are; I’m always on the hunt for more. I need a cup of tea now. Who’s with me? Much much love,
