5/27/2018 0 Comments Haul: The Body ShopA few weeks ago, I did a little shopping on The Body Shop website and I can’t wait any longer to share what I got! The Body Shop is one of my favorite stores; I love their products and I know I always get good quality. The items are very well packaged and always get delivered safely (and quickly) to your house. Another thing that I like about The Body Shop is that they always have some sale going on. I love a good deal, especially when it involves beauty products. Before we start, I would like to point out that all of the products came in a package that was almost 100% recyclable. All of The Body Shop products are also cruelty free. To me, The Body Shop is an extremely respectable brand, because they provide great quality products, offer good customer service and respect the environment. Kiss and Tell Born Lippy Wand Comes with 5 flavored lip balms: watermelon, raspberry, strawberry, passionberry and satsuma shimmer. To start off, I’m not sure that I understand the marketing behind this product. It says on the wand that it’s meant to be given as a gift, but to me the idea seems a bit childish, especially coming from The Body Shop. I was a little surprised by the packaging, which is cute but looks like it was designed for kids. The lip balms themselves were okay. They smell incredible, which is my favorite thing about these (especially the passionberry one; I want to eat the pot every time I open it). They have the texture of a gloss, and go on completely sheer. They make your lips look super shiny, kind of like they were wet with water. In other words, these lip balms are like a bite into a super juicy fruit. However, in reality, they really aren’t that moisturizing. I feel like they mostly just sit on your lips and eventually get wiped off. Lastly, I appreciate the fact that they’re not sparkly; even the satsuma shimmer one, which is supposed to be shimmery, really doesn’t have much glitter to it. All in all, I’m not super impressed by these. Body Polisher I adore this product! It is basically a super long (over 2’-10") piece of fabric, made with recycled polyester, that you can use as a loofah. I love loofahs because they allow any soap to foam up and they gently scrub your skin. However, I don’t like having to leave my loofah in the shower to dry. There’s just something depressing about an old loofah dripping with semi-cold water, abandoned in the shower. This body polisher is great because it is easy to wring out, and it folds up like a towel, so you can hang it up to dry outside of the shower. It is soft, while still being exfoliating; after only a few days of using it, I started noticing that my skin was already smoother. You can even use it with your favorite bar of soap; a little soap creates a ton of lather. Pink Grapefruit Bath Bubble I had never heard of this and was really curious to try it out. It is a little heart-shaped bubble bath bar, that you stick in your bath to create foam. I wasn’t overly impressed by it. It does the job, it fills your bath with bubbles, but it doesn’t have any scent, which was such a disappointment to me. I love The Body Shop’s pink grapefruit collection, so I was really looking forward to literally bathe in that smell… but I never caught it. Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo I had been dealing with extremely dry scalp for the past few years. It wasn’t just dandruff, it was chunks of dried skin coming off of my head. Not to sound dramatic, but it was terrifying, and it made me self-conscious of my hair, and my head in general. I couldn’t figure out what was causing this, and no product seemed to be working. Until I tried this one. It. Healed. Everything. Everything! Granted, the first time using it wasn’t that great; after my hair had dried, I had gigantic pieces of dried skin coming off, and I thought this shampoo had only made things worse. But after the second wash a few days later, there was nothing left. No dandruff, no patches of dried skin, no redness, no itching… And I haven’t experienced any discomfort since. This shampoo feels very soothing on your scalp, it smells great and it leaves your head feeling clean and healthy. It’s like a mini spa experience in a bottle. Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm I was pleasantly surprised by this product! First of all, it is vegetarian, 100% from natural origin, and is only made with 9 ingredients. And the packaging is beautiful! It is a pretty basic product; it doesn’t have any color, or any scent, and it feels just like a regular balm. However, once your start using it, that’s where the magic happens. You can use it on healed tattoos, skin marks, scars… Anywhere your skin needs a little rescuing. I got a tattoo about a year ago, and even though I’ve been very careful with it, it still has faded a little, and the contours are not as sharp as they used to be. I’ve been applying this product on it every night for a few weeks now, and I can definitely tell the difference. It’s like the ink has come back to life. My tattoo is noticeably brighter, like a veil has been lifted from it. I love this multi-purpose balm, and the fact that it is all natural gives me peace of mind; I know I’m not putting harsh chemicals on fragile skin. Tea Tree Oil Now that I’m out of my teenage years, I notice that my skin has acne scars, especially on my chin and my cheeks. I was looking for something to diminish their appearance, and you guys know how much I like tea, so buying this was a no-brainer for me. I apply it directly onto my skin, concentrating on the affected areas. It’s been about a month since I started using this, and I can already tell that the scars are fading. Acne scars are extra difficult to get rid of, so I’m trying my best to be patient, but I feel like so far, this product is off to a great start. It does have quite a strong smell that makes you wonder if you’re using it right, but once you get used to it, it’s actually pretty soothing. Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion I’ve been using this for a very long time (this is my third bottle) and I have no complaints about it whatsoever. After being on your feet all day, this lotion feels terribly good. Especially during the summer, when we’re all wearing sandals and heels, and going on walks, and running… This restores your feet’s happiness after a long day Mango Exfoliating Sugar Body Scrub I feel like good sugar scrubs can be really hard to find. They’re either too exfoliating or not enough, too thick or too thin. The Body Shop knocks it out of the park. Their body scrubs are to die for. First of all, they come in a ton of different scents and they all smell divine. Second of all, they come in pots, not tubes. I hate body scrubs that come in a tube because, if they have the right consistency, it's impossible to squeeze the product out of there. When it’s in a pot, it is much easier to scoop out and you can get every last drop. Lastly, the Body Shop scrubs work wonders. They are just thick enough and they provide amazing exfoliation. After using them, you can immediately tell that your skin is smoother, moisturized and happy. This is all that I got this time, but knowing me, there will be more to come in the near future. Keep an eye on my Instagram stories for updates and more product reviews. Much love,
-TM-
