Photo Inspiration - Annual Camping Trip

Picture
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always gone on an annual camping trip with my dad. Every summer, we pack up the car and go spend some father-daughter quality time in the tranquility of the woods. Throughout the years, we’ve tried a few different campgrounds, but for the last couple of years, we’ve been going to the exact same one, which is located in the Gatineau Park, Quebec. It is simply the best, and frankly, there is something soothing about coming back to the same place in nature year after year, and finding it unchanged. Here are some photos that I took this year. Enjoy.

The view from our campground. I instantly feel a sense of peace and freedom when I look at it.

We always have eggs and potatoes for breakfast while camping, and it is simply the best. Don’t try making it at home, it doesn’t taste the same; you have to be outside, surrounded by mosquitoes, to get the authentic taste.

One of our favorite things to do while camping is going on canoe rides. This specific campground has direct access to the lake, which is one of the reasons why we love it so much.

We always see animals when we go camping. This is a normal-size turtle lounging in the sun, but we did see a snapping turtle (which I was too scared to photograph).

Our camp is usually invaded by chipmunks (which is totally fine by me!). They run around all day, looking for food and playing with each other.

On the lake, everything is so peaceful. Floating quietly, with nothing around us but the trees and the blue water. If I look up at the bright sky, I can almost feel like I’m flying. It is truly humbling, to sit in nature and just… be.

Reading by the campfire. I was working on finishing Gone with the Wind, which has thought me so much.

Who said you can’t have a gourmet meal while camping?

I was about 12 years old when my dad first thought me how to canoe, and I have loved it ever since. I am not a huge boat person (or a water person, for that matter), but for some reason, I never get tired of exploring with the canoe (and my dad).

Frogs are keeping watch while we sleep.

We frequently get furry visitors, casually checking if we left any food out. I don’t know what my favorite part is; seeing the adorable raccoons or hearing the neighbors frantically put their food away.

Yes, we all have to take at least one corny photo in our life.

I hope these few photos have inspired you. Camping is, in all seriousness, the best way to relax and center yourself. Happy camping!
Much love,

With those beautiful and peaceful pictures, for sure lots of people will want to know the exact location of this camping!
I left you messages on the site. Haven’t you seen them? It is true they look like dead leaves, so often neglected. Maybe next time?
