My Everyday Makeup Routine - Winter Edition

Picture
I like makeup, a lot. I like applying makeup (a lot!) and I like browsing new products (a lot!!). But I don’t like having a lot of makeup on. And above all, I don’t like looking like I have a lot of makeup on. Although I usually wear a bit more during the colder months, I like to keep things looking fresh and natural. So here is my everyday makeup routine, winter edition.

Moisturize
First, I need to prep my face. I always apply my makeup right after I’ve washed my face. That way it is squeaky clean.
1. Nivea Mattifying day cream. I always, alwaaaaaays apply moisturizer, even on days when I don’t wear makeup. This product is light, yet super moisturizing. It also has SPF, which is crucial to protect your skin from the sun, even during the winter.
2. eos lip balm in “fresh grapefruit”. Moisturizing your lips before applying lipstick will make the application a lot easier and the final result a lot smoother. Personally, I’m all about grapefruit during the winter because I feel like the scent energizes me.

3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer, in “light”. This concealer is amazing to brighten up the under eye area and conceal any dark circles. The product is smooth and blends beautifully onto the skin. I’ve been using this concealer for years and it has never failed me.
4. Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging concealer, in “light”. I use this concealer to cover up blemishes, because it doesn’t have any brightening property (which you want to avoid when you’re trying to hide something). I like to squeeze some of the product on my fingertip before applying it to my face. That way, the applicator doesn’t touch the blemish that I’m trying to conceal, and it keeps things more sanitary.
5. Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder, in “transparent”. I’ve been using this product for ages. I have tried many mattifying powders over the years and none have worked as well as this one. It evens out your skin tone and doesn’t look cakey at all. I also find that it brightens up my complexion. It is not too heavy, and it really does last the 5 hours it promises on the package.

Eyebrows
6. Revlon Expert tweezers. I like to keep my eyebrows looking clean at all times, so I use a pair of tweezers daily to pluck out any undesired hair.
7. Gosh Defining brow gel, in the shade “003”. I use a spoolie brush to comb through them, and then use this Gosh product to keep them in place all day long. I love this brow gel because it has a slight tint and it keeps your eyebrows in order without making them feel crunchy or sticky. It looks very natural, which is exactly what I want.

8. Eyelash curler. I always curl my lashes. This may seem like a useless step, but it really does make a difference. It makes you look more awake and it keeps your upper lashes from getting tangled up with your lower lashes, especially when you’re putting mascara on.
9. Gosh Velvet Touch eyeliner, in “black ink”. I only use it to tightline. I find that this eyeliner works great on the waterline; it applies really easily and it will not transfer onto your lower lashline.
10. Annabelle matte eyeshadow, in “ebony”. I then use a small angled brush and some black eyeshadow to trace my upper lashline and go over the eyeliner on the waterline to set it in place.
11. Maybelline Total Temptation mascara. I like to switch things up often when it comes to mascara, but this winter I’ve been gravitating towards this one the most. It adds volume and gives you big fluttery lashes. With any mascara, I always use the darkest shade I can find, usually called something like “very black”.
12. Covergirl Full Lash Bloom mascara. On my lower lashline, I prefer to use a mascara that has a lighter formula. I am not a fan of big and extra long lower lashes, but I find that this mascara provides just enough definition.

Lips
13. Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick, in the shade “pink pearl”. In the dead of winter, this is what I usually reach for. It is creamy, it has a pearl finish, and it doesn’t dry out your lips. The color is very warm while still being natural.
14. Revlon Colorburst balm stain, in “honey”. I like this when the temperature is slightly warmer. It is super creamy, buildable, and it adds a nice pop of color to your lips. Plus, it has a nice peppermint smell that really wakes you up.

And that’s it! Those are the products that I use almost everyday (and that I looove!). They help me achieve a very natural look that is simple to do and feels light on the skin.

*The best part is, all of these products can be found at the drugstore.

Much love,
-TM-
