11/29/2020 0 Comments tea for the holidaysLet’s be real; winter is the ultimate time to cozy up with a cup of tea. The iced tea that we’ve enjoyed all summer long is fun and refreshing, but there’s nothing like sitting down by the fire with a steaming mug of your favorite tea. Christmas is nearly here and I simply cannot imagine the Holidays without tea – especially this year, when we’ll be spending a lot of time lounging at home. I’ve gathered my all-time favorite teas from different holiday collections, in the hope of making your pandemic Christmas just a little warmer and comfier. Hope you enjoy. Valerian Nights Cla-ssic. I share this tea whenever I can, with whoever I can. Thankfully, it’s part of DavidsTea’s classic collection, so it’s almost always available. They recently perfected it (as if it wasn’t already perfect!) and it’s even sweeter and richer than before. This herbal tea is like chamomile tea with a luxurious twist. The two main flavors – coconut and caramel – may sound like an odd combination, but they work wonderfully well together. Paired with the calming effect of the chamomile and valerian root, it sends you straight into the most scrumptious dream. Alpine Punch I received this tea twice as a present, and it’s one of the most delicious gift I’ve ever gotten. My best friend was the first to introduce me to this rooibos tea, claiming that it tasted exactly like apple pie. She was 100% right. Furthermore, it doesn’t taste like boring old apple pie. It tastes (and smells) like the most heartwarming, decadent, crisp, nutty apple pie. It’s also caffeine free, which makes it a great dessert alternative for those days after Christmas you usually spend in a food coma. It’s part of DavidsTea’s winter collection, but my advice is to stock up when you can and enjoy it all year long. Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride I often catch myself daydreaming about this tea. Celestial make great Holiday teas, but this specific one should get a medal. It’s possibly my favorite tea on this list. With just a handful of ingredients, this fruit infusion is super simple, yet the delicate taste is something you’ll remember. It tastes exactly like sugar cookies, but the best part is the aroma that escapes from the tea bags when you open the box. You’d think there literally are cookies baking in there. Such a rich and sophisticated taste is surprising for bagged tea, but what can I say… It’s a Christmas miracle. Caramel Shortbread I’ve talked about this tea so many times, so I’ll keep it short: it’s simply perfect. As soon as it came back out this year, I stocked up and I’m hoping that’ll get me through the next year. It’s a fruit infusion and I don’t know how they did it, but it tastes exactly like a caramel shortbread. It’s sweet, but delicate, and it’s my favorite drink to have before bed during the colder months. Let It Snow I’m not a massive eggnog fan, but I do love Holiday classics – whether that means festive drinks or traditional food. Around Christmas, I usually add a drop of eggnog to plain black tea for a touch of celebration to my morning cup. Let It Snow is a great alternative if you enjoy the taste of eggnog, but are unsure about the texture (or what it is made of). This green tea contains candied pineapple, black currants, apple, cinnamon, white chocolate and cloves – rich ingredients that blend nicely together and create a creamy, spicy infusion. To tell you the truth, I’ve been working on this list for years and it was originally a lot longer, but I made sure all the teas mentionned here were still available for your enjoyement. I’d like to give an honorable mention to DavidsTea’s Fireside Mocha, which was part of their holiday collection for the past few years, but is sadly not available this year. If you see it, grab it! What are your personal Holiday favorites? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Holidays! Much love,
