7/14/2019 0 Comments Tinted Lips for the SummerAs stated and promised in my previous blog post, tinted lip balms are my favorite lip product during the summer and today I am sharing with you my all-time favorites. If there ever was such a thing as a lip balm addiction, I certainly have it. I physically cannot spend more than an hour, tops, without reapplying lip balm. I don't have particularly dry lips (because I always put on lip balm, hehehe), but I absolutely hate having chapped or pale lips. I want my lips to be moisturized, smooth, and with a hint of color. During the winter, I'm all about bold, dark lip colors, like red or plum. On a glorious summer day, however, I don't like hiding behind a layer of thick lipstick. That's when tinted lip balms come in! They are lighter than a lipstick, a thousand times more moisturizing than a lip stain, and way more fun than a boring old lip liner. They come in all sorts of fun colors, like bright pink and burnt orange, and the intensity is easily buildable. They also last a really long time, even when you're sweating profusely (just keeping' it real). They do all this while keeping your lips protected, moisturized and nicely defined. They are to lipstick what CC cream is to foundation. Over time, I've tested a whole lot of tinted lip balms, but here are the ones that I absolutely adore. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm Retail price: 6$ Oh yes! : 6 subtle colors. 100% natural. Deeply moisturizing. Moisture is long lasting. Small, easy to carry. Made with shea butter and botanical waxes Color(s) featured: Hibiscus Covergirl Colorlicious Oh Sugar! Vitamin Infused Lip Balm Retail price: 10.99$ Oh yes! : Extra moisturizing. 10 fun colors. Nicely pigmented. Buildable. With grapeseed oil, avocado butter and vitamin C & E. Cruelty Free. Color(s) featured: Sprinkle and Candy. Joe Fresh Tinted Lip Balm Retail price: 12$ Oh yes! : Buildable. Made with shea butter & passion fruit, grapeseed, sunflower, rosehip and avocado oil. With antioxidants and skin strengthening ingredients. Wide range of colors, from light pink to plum. Color(s) featured: Grapefruit, Blackberry & Dragon Fruit (how cute are these names?!) Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipstick Retail price: 11.49$ Oh yes! : Hydrating formula. Pen-shaped = easy to apply. Amazing, vibrant colors. Color(s) featured: HD Sunset *Disclaimer: You’re right, this is technically not a tinted lip balm. It’s a full on lipstick. However, it is so incredibly moisturizing that I think it deserves its place in this post. Besides, the colors are all amazing for the summer and the formula is extremely light-weight and hydrating. Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain Retail price: 10.99$ Oh yes! : True stain = Put it on in the morning; still there at night. Buildable = a soft tint during the day, a bold lip at night. Peppermint taste and refreshing sensation. Super soft and moisturizing. Color(s) featured: Honey Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Retail price: 10.99$ Oh yes! : Super soft and moisturizing. Slightly shimmery. Brightens up your whole face. Color(s) featured: Peach Parfait Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint Retail price: 12.49$ Oh yes! : Nice cushiony applicator. Pigmented but still discreet. Awesome MLBB shades. Color(s) featured: Naughty Mauve *Disclaimer: I wear lip balm under every single lip product, and it’s something I highly recommend. Do not start your lip routine with anything other than a proper, simple lip balm, even if you’re planning on using a super moisturizing product afterward. Have a true, reliable, wax-in-a-tube lip balm to protect your lips and ensure your lip color goes on smooth. Although it may seem like a lot, these are all tinted lip balms that I continuously reach for. I like to slightly change up my look from day to day, and changing my lip color is the perfect way to do it. Let me know if you end up trying any of these or if you already have your own personal stash of tinted lip balms. Much love,
